Lose the Shoes

When we visit the shore, who is the first to kick off the sandals and dig their feet into the sand? While we find ourselves outdoors, do we feel the urge to lose the shoes and feel the cool grass beneath our feet?

If this describes you, consider it a blessing.

You may be feeling the need to be grounded.

Deep within our souls, we long to feel secure and well balanced. Our physical bodies are made up of the same materials as all earth made substances, so it makes perfect sense that we are drawn to the great outdoors to connect with our Creator!

Grounding in God

Used in meditative practices, grounding (sometimes called earthing) is a natural and effective way to get in touch with our inner self. We turn our focus inward and discover the Spirit centering us to become aware of our own energy. Without realizing, we often feel the need to stop, breathe, and be grounded.

Here are some wonderful benefits of grounding.

We are present in the moment. Do you give your full attention to the task at hand? Do you really engage in conversations or easily lose your train of thought? Grounding directs our thoughts to the here and now.

We are rooted in our own energy. Are you easily swayed by others’ ideas or actions? Do you often feel anxious or overwhelmed? Grounded people find sensitivity and empathy as a holy gift, rather than a burden.

We are connected. Ever feel stranded or isolated? Being grounded promotes healthy relationships and binds family love and support. It connects us to all life forms and heightens our spiritual awareness. Seek the wisdom of God as we honor ancestors gone before us. In faith, we are never alone!

We get in touch with our bodies. Listen with curiosity to sensations from our bones, muscles, and organs. Ask for healing and acceptance. Pay attention to your breath and breathe deeply. Let it ground you further.

We are in tune with nature. Be anchored in Mother Earth. Allow her magnificent energy to support you as we are all part of God’s creation. With eyes closed, imagine your roots extending downward. Can’t get outside? Plant those feet firmly on the floor. The Lord will surely meet you where you are.

We feel safe. Enjoy a sense of belonging and appreciate the gift to be alive. Celebrate in whose image we are made and accept our highest potential. Acknowledge the angels in thanksgiving for their protection. Smile within.

We manifest stability. When we are grounded it is easier to connect logic with common sense promoting better decision making. We find confidence to surrender our worries to the Lord. Remain steady and offer your whole being back to the Creator for blessing.

We trust. Consciously choose to have faith in the unknown. Stand firm in your beliefs and pray for revelation. Try not to be overly fixated on mystical experiences or search for what God has not yet revealed. Allow your heart to lift high in the light of Truth and give thanks and praise!

Enjoy the calm and silence. Be still and know God.

In the beginning, the earth was created to complement and enhance our healthy existence. Our natural rhythms can easily be thrown off by an overactive mind, neglect, or stress due to high demands of these modern times. Grounding in faith will keep us strong in all storms of life.

Remember, God remains the same…always. We are the ones who move.

Are you sensing the need to be grounded in God where He offers mercy, teaches Wisdom, and lavishes us in His peace and love? It sounds wonderful! I think I’ll lose the shoes and step outside right now!

Be grounded in Truth…

Abounded in Blessings!

Until our next walk through the garden
