Connect the Dots… . . .

The evening falls on a cool and clear night, perfect for star gazing. We find time to look up and take in the vast view of our universe. It is fascinating to observe the heavens from our finite point of view. But what is it are we truly searching for?

Technology is a wonder in human brilliance and productivity. This amazing gift from God continually reveals information about the great unknown. The more we learn, the more we want to know. The same is true in our faith journey. The more we personally experience the revelation of God, the more we crave His love and His mercy.

When we look up to the starry heavenly sky, it can make us feel almost insignificant, as a mere blip on a radar screen. But nothing could be further from the truth. Every one of us is of great significance in God’s perfect plan. We need only to connect the dots to see the bigger picture.

The Bible. . .a poetic book of Truth. . .a sequence of events. . .

To better understand the New Testament, it is best to study the Old one. We connect the prophetic events that lead to the ultimate answer to all questions. Once the Christ enters the world, everything changes. The Holy Spirit opens our minds to comprehend God’s eternal plan for all of mankind. Yet it has the keen ability to pinpoint precise experiences to help clarify our own faith journey. When we enter in the scenes of the bible, we can discover our personal truth.

For an example, under Moses’ faithful leadership, the Israelites roam the desert for over 40 years, awaiting the promised land. We read about their untrusting rebellious behavior resulting from their impatient nature. We witness the Mercy of God as He hears their woes and concerns. He responds to their needs. Our Providential God comes to their aid again and again.

Do we appreciate the miraculous manna God provides for us every day? Do we lose sight of Him in worldly guidelines we are currently subjected to? Do we fully trust in His plan for our own Promised Land of Salvation though we may not seem to find it?

“Any search for Truth is a search for God.” -Edith Stein

Parents marvel in their children’s inquisitive years as they ask a million questions. Teachers love to hear educated requests from their students, giving evidence they are listening and comprehending. Even Jesus answered questions with questions to keep us yearning to learn more about the Father.

Our family training, education, and friendships are some hopeful influences that help us grow into healthy, holy maturity. Like the Israelites, there are times when things must happen to help us understand our correct path. We can pray for Grace to transcend our current situation and see a deeper meaning. Trying experiences can bring us closer to the Lord, and when shared, can help others to find God as well.

There are plenty of lost people searching for what we have been given to share.

There is a surge in population who put their faith in worldly affairs rather than spiritual ones. Studies show that those guided by secularism are still desiring evidence for God. The greatest things in life are things we cannot see. If we are unsure of things unseen, we are still searching. True faith is belief in things seen and unseen.

Do we have the courage to ask the right people the right questions? Perhaps it’s time to join a good bible study to help unlock the mysteries of our faith and connect the dots in our own journey home. There is nothing more exciting than a realization of the Living God in our midst!

When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are.

Anything your heart desires will come to you.

Step outside tonight and look up! Keep searching for more Truth and connect the stars to see the bigger picture. Discover Orion, the Big Dipper, and other magnificent constellations. Align our desires with the will of the Father, for He will do immeasurably more than we can ever imagine! (Eph 3:20)

oh... And don’t forget to make that wish!

Blessings to all!

Until our next walk through the garden

-Anne
